Utterli Free Group Texting is here!
So, we (Utterli) just made an announcement on our blog here: http://blog.utterli.com/…-and-more/. This morning I briefed a number of bloggers and publications on these announcements -- the reactions from press and customers have been terrific.
I personally wanted to extend my thanks to the ambassadors for their help on the desktop app. @Paisano wrote a great review (http://mashable.com/…op-client/) of our beta desktop app release, and some of our most vocal supporters, including @brettbum, confirmed the 1.0 market requirements in subsequent posts and comments at Mashable. These users correctly noted that our beta product was not ready for primetime... I feel I should share the back story on the beta limitations.
What we couldn't really say at that point was that there is a reason why we built a limited functionality application first -- that beta app will ultimately find its way into consumer electronics products, including one of the hottest gifts this Christmas. I'm hoping to share more about that early next week.
I also want to provide a personal thanks @duby, and @justsue for their tireless efforts on Utterli Free Group Texting. Also, prolific social web developer @chrisrockwell, who built the inspirational and short-lived-but-wildly-successful JanglMe app (discontinued) for Bebo. We're hopeful that our new Utterli apps will help people overcome some very unnecessary real-world teleocom borders in a social networking landscape that is increasingly free of real-world geographic hassles.

Interesting point
I'm working with Hardball on in the background. Michael Smerconish (sp?!) just endorsed Obama. He has been a registered Republican and party-ticket voter on presidential elections since he registered.
Inadvertently, he made a really interesting point. Yesterday Colin Powell spoke for 6.5 minutes, without script, in response to a simple question, and laid out a clear, concise and specifica argument for his endorsement, with passion and persuasion. Smerconish asked -- when was the last time you heard something like that?

5000 prisoners executed during Katrina?
I used to work with Adam Curry...yeah, the big-haired guy from MTV circa 1990. Periodically, I listen to his Daily Source Code (http://www.dailysourcecode.com/), but not as much as I did when I worked with him. It's a good show with radio stylings because that's his background. I know a lot of people don't like him, but whatever your thoughts on him professionally, the guy is pretty smart and knows how to connect in a broadcast medium.
The thing I like about the show is the sources for his topics. Thursday's show was a great example. The craziest topic centered around the video I'm including.
I'm posting because we have a lot of American Red Cross folks here in Utterli. I'm wondering if the American Red Cross folks here have thoughts or comments on Cynthia McKinney's comments that she had verification of the executions from American Red Cross insiders. This is a very serious allegation and very hard to even contemplate.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone from American Red Cross want to comment?

For my money, there's nothing more vicious than the eBay community. Check out the nastiness directed at Richard Brewer-Hay today. Full disclosure, Richard is a friend, but I've been watching him take abuse for awhile now. This is the first time the tone just came through as "out of order".
